Lesson ‘Tot’, ‘Ham’ Done!

It is rather repugnant – especially to the Red Devils’ devotees – that at the early part of this season, Manchester United were flying high as genuine contenders for the title, but with about a quarter of the campaign left, the Devils have lost their power of torment. In fact they have become victims of torture themselves.

The last game against Tottenham Hotspurs epitomized what United have become under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho. It is a cinch to assert that United have lost the ‘fear factor’ they hitherto instilled in teams. The Mourinho-tutored side virtually approach matches involving fellow top-six sides the same way kids dread horror movies in the night. Truth be told, Manchester United now see their ‘peers’ as ‘vampires’, recoiling to their shells each time they clash! Shame!

The result against Spurs where United lost 0-2 to the home team flattered Mourinho and his lads. They were battered and bruised. Could have been worst. They could have lost by as much as 5 or 6 had Harry Kane showed up with his cane to give them the thrashing they truly deserved.

One wonders why the presence of Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard and the new ’super’ acquisition Alexis Sanchez failed to send shivers down the spines of the Lillywhites. Has Paul Pogba failed to become ‘the man’ since his arrival at Old Trafford? Or has the Frenchman’s attributes and qualities been misconstrued and misused? Every time United perform poorly against top sides, they come up with the ‘we’ll be back stronger’ message. Shortly after, they beat West Brom, Swansea, Southampton, West Ham and the likes. No insolence to these teams, but that’s bullsh*t to me. Manchester United should be up there, looking down on the others.

It is pitiable to see the pride of English football 15 points behind off colour.

Besides the coach, the players should sit up! Enough of the dance-style practices, and other trivials. Their job’s on the pitch. Not in pubs, or saloons!
